Both stages are drawn at 1280 × 800 — the viewport where the catalog band is currently invisible — at the page's real measurements and typefaces. The dashed line is the fold. Everything below it, nobody sees without scrolling.
“Forgot password?” sits between the password field and Sign In — so tabbing from the field you just finished typing in lands on it before the submit button. The catalog band starts at y=820, twenty pixels past the fold.

“Forgot password?” moves onto the password label row and comes off blue. Everything below lifts 44px. The reclaimed space carries a full-width outlined catalog button — outlined, never filled, so it stays under the cream Apply. The 200px band is gone and the frame closes on the rule that already exists.

Same structure throughout — Apply wide and transparent on top, the two utilities below. The only thing that changes is the stroke. They run loudest to quietest.

Apply for an accountMy pick is 04 if you want it silent and 03 if you want a moment. 04 keeps the palette at a weight you have to look for, and is the quietest one where Apply still reads as the primary. 03 is plain until intent, then gives you the full ribbon. 01 is motion without colour. A note on 02: it is the most restrained and I built it as the floor of the ladder — but with no motion and no colour the wide button ends up looking exactly like the two utilities beneath it, which inverts the hierarchy the whole layout exists to create. I raised the base stroke on all five from 18% to 42% white for that reason; below roughly that, minimal starts costing you the hierarchy.
On 05, the blue one. Stage 05 renders Sign In above it deliberately — two filled blues in one frame is the only honest way to judge it. What you get is a page with two identical primaries: a returning distributor has to read both to find theirs. It is defensible on the grounds that they serve different people, but it spends the page's strongest signal twice. If you want the blue connection without the cost, 06 carries the same hue as a stroke — related to Sign In, clearly subordinate to it. Both blues here are #0070cc, not #008cff; the current one fails AA at 3.39:1, so shipping two of them would double a failure rather than just repeat a colour.
